Materials: Wool on Cotton Foundation

Condition: Very Good with original sides and fringe and excellent pile. Professionally washed and floor ready.

Remarks: Sometimes called the Heriz runner as they come from adjacent regions in Northwest Persia and are made with the same strong mountainous wool.  Always look for the repeated latch hook and pendant shaped medallions in glorious colors.  These are sturdy rugs.

Remarks: From Northwest Persia in a region adjacent to the Heriz rug making area, this small area rug was hand-knotted in an Azerbaijani village by a weaver using naturally derived wool and her own design passed on by generations.

Condition: Very good…overall  good pile, no rips, tears, original ends and sides, lovely aged colors.


Karaja rugs precede Heriz rugs and often matched with them in interior decor.They are characterized by similar colors of the Heriz rugs and mostly found in runner sizes. They always have latch-hook medallions interspersed with other medallions with pyramidal or tree of life design combined with glorious colors and mountain wool.
