This is a beautiful 1900 Northwest Persian Harshang Crab design rug made in the Northwest region of Iran by the Kurdish people when Iran was called Persia.
It has the well recognized Harshang or stylized crab design. This design is repeated in rows of two, in beautiful colors of blue, green, coral, yellow, and the Northwest border of an ivory field and a procession of tiny creatures and animals,
It has even overall wear without significant missing borders or sides.
The rug has been cleaned and the ends and sides have been secured.
This design is sought out by many decorators and collectors.
