19th C, Antique Tekke Ensi with Fuchsine dyes (D0126)

Age: 1870-1890
Condition:: Very good condition with good soft pile throughout. No major losses to either end. The rug has been professionally cleaned with no hard areas, pet stains, or odors.
Remarks: Made by one of the 4 Turkmen tribes(Tekke) for their own use and not for the rug market. This 19th Century Tribal piece made during the last quarter of 19th century, This one is easy to date because of the use of fuchsine (Magenta) dyes whose colors change over the decades. This was not the intended effect but makes these 19th Century pieces easy to date. They were used as door covering and used on special occasions.
