Antique Baluch Prayer Rug D0213 Dim: 28" x 47" Origin: Baluch Materials: Hand-Spun Wool on Natural Wool Age. ca. 1910-1920 Condition: Very good with overall muted colors from naturally derived dyes. Almost entirely intact with original 2 cord selvege /sides and kililm on both ends in good condition. Remarks: This is tribal prayer rug with the reknown Prayer Arch at the top. The Baluch are nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes whose flatweave and pile and soumak weave are woven primarily as utilitarian tribal pieces. The colors of aubergine,grass green, goldenrod yellow, blue, different shades of brown are all the Native natural colors from their habitat and region.
