D0124: This is a Vintage Turkmen rug made in Turkmenistan or Afghanistan by the Saryk Turkmen tribes, made with luxurious, shiny wool and many Shamanistic symbols. Note the one, asymmetric Prayer comb woven in the bottom right of the rug or this could also possibly be a type of signature. It is frequently call a main carpet because it is the size of a carpet used on the floor of the nomad’s tent. This was rug is not an antique, but a vintage piece probably made by the tribe for sale in the market in the 1950’s. This rug was NOT MADE in Pakistan or India.
