Material: Wool on wool with Goat hair warps, hand-knotted, hand-dyed, natural dyes.
Condition:Excellent, Full pile, no low pile. Fully intact borders and natural wool, undyed fringes.
Remarks: This is an antique rug in remarkable condition. It has both pile and flatweave skillfully woven to create an intentioal relief in the design. The special saturated dark dyes of blues, golden rod yellow, deep aubergine, greens and orange. The S dragon motif encircle the rug as a tallisman/ protection…Perhaps commissioned for a special client…. very special!!!
