Condition: Very good, with good pile overall and totally intact sides and fringes. This rug has been professionally washed and is ready for your floor.

Remarks: Unusual square size in a Heriz, probably woven in the Ahar region close to the  Karajah area in Northwest Persia.  Ahar/Herizes are noted for their large sprawling medallions (as with this rug) that flow over the entire piece.

Old Heriz medallion rug (D0379), measuring 4.5×4 feet, woven ca. 1930-40.

Very good condition, that is, the rug has a good sturdy pile overall and totally intact sides and fringes. This rug has been professionally washed and is ready for your floor.

Remarks: This Heriz/Ahar rug is unusual as it is an almost square-shaped piece, with a very impressive large medallion that flows out over the entire main field. Such a design is typical of rugs made in the Ahar region.
