Condition: Excellent with thick even pile overall.  There is no color fading with good crisp colors.

Remarks: This runner was made in Northwest Persia. The primary design is repeating Farang Gul and

Herati Fish symbols with an Indigo background.

Vintage Persian Mahal  Runner, (D0254)

Size: 43 x 166″, 109 x  421 cm.

Age: 1960-1970

Origin: Northwest Persia

Condition: Excellent with thick even pile overall.  There is no color fading with good crisp colors.

Remarks: This runner was made in Northwest Persia. The primary design is repeating Farang Gul and Herati symbols

with an Indigo background. Mahals were made in the same area as the Zeigler carpets which are rare and in great demand today.

These carpets were made in the Arak region in Northwest Persia and are also called Mahallat rugs.Use in the living room, hall ways. or a true statement piece in a kitchen or pantry.  A rug for all rooms.

Antique Baluch Prayer Rug.  D0213.  Dim: 28" x 47" Materials: hand-spun wool on natural wool.  Age. ca. 1910-1920 Condition: Very good with overall muted colors from naturally derived dyes. Almost entirely intact with original 2 cord selvage /sides, and the kilim on both ends in good condition. Remarks: This is tribal prayer rug with a prayer arch at the top. The Baluch are a nomadic and semi-nomadic tribe whose flatweave and pile and soumak items were woven primarily as utilitarian tribal pieces. The colors of aubergine, grass green, goldenrod yellow, blue, different shades of brown are all the Native natural colors from their habitat and region.
